About Robert Sullivan
An experienced and dedicated middle and high school band director, Robert Sullivan has 15 years of experience in Texas schools. He currently teaches in Grand Prairie ISD, having previously taught at Crockett High School in Austin, TX.
As the school’s band director, Robert Sullivan led the team to top-seven placement at the Bands of America Super-Regional competition and secured the Kennedy Center’s $250,000 “Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child” grant. Mr. Sullivan joined the faculty at Crockett following a successful tenure as director of bands for Hightower High School in Missouri City, TX.
He has also led as associate director of bands at R. L. Turner High School and as director of bands at Medlin Middle School, having begun his career at Coppell Middle School.
Mr. Sullivan has led ensembles from Austin, TX, and beyond to many University Interscholastic League competitions, where they have consistently earned sweepstakes awards and first division ratings for both marching and concert contests.
He has guided bands to best in class awards on a near-annual basis since 1997, during which time he has also accepted such accolades as the Texas Music Educators Association’s Class C State Honor Band and the US Bands State Championship Division II title.
